Next week, EP not likely to vote on "Echelon" Resolution - Austrian President Klestil to meet Conference of Presidents on Wednesday

Brussels, 06/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - The agenda of the European Parliament's session in Strasbourg next week has had to be drastically altered, as Council President Jaime Gama will only be able to take part in the work in plenary Tuesday afternoon (see yesterday's EUROPE, pages 10 and 11). It is therefore Tuesday afternoon that Parliament will have its debate on the Intergovernmental Conference and hear statements by the Council and European Commission on Turkey.
