ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) airlines

The Italian carrier ALITALIA has announced that it was in talks with its counterpart KLM over a possible merger. The two groups are already partners with the setting up of an alliance, in November 1999, in passenger and freight transport, venture that leads the European airline market in the number of passengers carried.
