Brussels, 06/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - In accordance with what is progressively done with all the candidate countries, the European Commission signed on Thursday with Hungary the "joint evaluation of the medium-term economic policy priorities" of this country, for the period up to 2004, in the framework of the process "partnership for accession." The respect of the guidelines in this document will decisively contribute to enabling Hungary to respect the economic conditions to join the EU. The document was signed by the Hungarian Finance Minister Mr. Zsigmond Jarai and by the European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs, Mr. Pedro Solbes.
