ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banking

The bank MEESPIERSON (Belgian group FORTIS) has taken a 70% stake in the Spanish firm BETA CAPITAL for an undisclosed amount, but in which it already had the remaining 30%. BETA CAPITAL, which manages funds and property, had a pre-tax profit in 1999 of 15 million euro.
