ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) automobile

The German group SIEMENS has said that it would refuse to join forces with VDO, automobile subcontracting subsidiary of ATECS MANNESMANN if ATECS should fall into the hands of THYSSENKRUPP (see EI of 3&4 April). SIEMENS and ATECS have announced a partnership with VDO providing for the creation of a new 50/50 jointly owned company. See EI of 22 March.
