The American electronics subcontracting group SOLECTRON is to pay $900 million for 6 factories belonging to the Canadian telecommunications group NORTEL NTWORKS. The sites concerned are located in North America and Asia. The two groups, moreover, are said to be discussing the sale of the manufacturing and repair activities in Europe.
