Parliament disapproves of expiry of embargo on arms sales

Strasbourg, 20/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - With its adoption during its urgent debates of a resolution on the Molucca Islands, the EP called on the EU to send a delegation to Indonesia and to increase humanitarian aid to Molucca. Parliament also regretted that the EU Council had failed to extend its common position on the embargo on arms sales to Indonesia (which expired on 17 January) and asked the Council to review this decision.
