ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) chemicals

The British fine chemicals group BTP (market capitalisation of GBP 684 million with turnover of GBP 171 million for the fiscal year ending on 30 September 1999) is holding talks with the Swiss group CLARIANT (speciality chemicals), with a view to a possible takeover of the latter.
