ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) gas

American EL PASO ENERGY, the owner of the largest system of gas pipelines in North America, is to acquire COASTAL CORP for the overall sum of around $16 billion. The move will make EL PASO ENERGY one of the largest gas carriers worldwide with a turnover of $18.2 billion.
