Parliament calls on Commission to implement recommendations of second report of "Committee of Independent Experts", but rejects creation of committee responsible for studying its own functioning

Strasbourg, 20/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - By adopting the report by the Dutch Socialist Michiel van Hulten, the European Parliament calls on the Commission to adopt a series of reforms to implement the recommendations of the second report of the Committee of Independent Experts (see EUROPE of 14 January, p.8). Parliament is calling for (1) a complete overhaul of the Financial Regulation, (2) tighter control over shared management spending with Member States, 93) a strengthening of the fight...
