20/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has called on Germany to provide, within one month, complementary information on aid to Saarbergwerke subsidiaries during its acquisition by Rag Aktiengesellschaft, in the coal sector. The Commission also calls on Germany to specify why the purchase of Saarbergwerke by Rag for a symbolic 1 DM was not notified under European rules on State aid in the energy sector.
