Commission adopts report on very remote regions - Positive reactions in France, Spain and Portugal

Brussels, 14/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission adopted on Tuesday the report on very remote regions of the European Union, which it will be forwarding to Parliament and the Council. The report proposes a strategy for action by the EU in the very remote regions (Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique, Réunion, Canary Islands, Azores and Madeira); the first draft implementing texts are expected to be submitted this year.
