Brussels, 14/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission's Director General for enlargement, Eneko Landaburu, has launched an appeal to applicant countries not to attach too much importance on dates of accession, but focus their efforts on the "essential" issues, ie., the respect of the accession criteria.
