United States and Europe define bases for provisional agreement on the protection of private data - Financial services not included

Brussels, 14/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The United States and European Commission jointly announced on Tuesday, at a press conference, that they had concluded a provisional agreement on the protection of private data. "We are ready to recommend this package to our respective authorities", declared John Mogg, the Commission's representative, at the end of several hours of talks.
