European Commission to negotiate new EU/Gabon fisheries agreement

11/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 8 September, the European Commission adopted a proposal (https://aeur.eu/f/idk) asking the Council of the EU to authorise it to negotiate a new fisheries agreement with Gabon (see EUROPE B12895A25). The latest five-year implementation protocol came into force on 29 June 2021 and will expire on 28 June 2026.
