21/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 21 February, the Council of the European Union adopted without debate a decision on the conclusion of the protocol implementing the fisheries partnership agreement with Gabon. The European Parliament approved this new protocol to the EU-Gabon Fisheries Partnership Agreement in mid-December 2021 (see EUROPE 12854/23). This is a five-year protocol (2021-2026), which offers EU vessels fishing opportunities in Gabonese waters (for a total catch of 32,000 tonnes per year).
