21/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – The EU has added two groups and two individuals associated with al-Qaeda and Daesh operating in Afghanistan to the list of individuals and entities subject to sanctions. The EU is “determined to take decisive action against those who continue to threaten international peace and security by planning, financing and carrying out terrorist attacks and spreading their deadly terrorist propaganda around the world”. It is therefore applying sanctions to the group ‘Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent’ (AQSI); its leader Osama Mahmood; ‘Islamic State in Khorasan Province’ spokesperson Aziz Azam; and the group ‘Islamic State in Hind Province’, associated with Daesh.
