21/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Labour Authority (ELA) and ROADPOL, the European Roads Policing Network, coordinated and supported a ‘Truck & Bus Action Week’ in seven Member States (Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Portugal), according to a press release published on Tuesday 15 February. The authorities targeted road sites with high levels of road freight traffic and focused on checking compliance with tachograph, driving and rest time rules. The police also checked for load security, speeding, technical deficiencies and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Out of 184 vehicles checked, 120 showed irregularities. The initiative mobilised 200 inspectors. (PH)
