European Commission adopts 2025 Aid Programme for Turkish Cypriot community, worth €33.7 million

11/09/2025 (Agence Europe)On Thursday 11 September, the European Commission announced the adoption of the 2025 EU Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community, allocating €33.7 million to support its socio-economic development and facilitate the process for the reunification of Cyprus. The support will help to boost trade between the two communities by facilitating the alignment of Turkish Cypriot products with European standards, and help Turkish Cypriot small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as entrepreneurs, to grow and consolidate their businesses. Other priorities include improving the skills of workers, teachers and children with special needs, continuing scholarships and supporting projects in the fields of energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy and environmental protection. Lastly, the programme includes continued support for the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus and the restoration of Cyprus’ cultural heritage. (CG)
