Agreement to shorten deadline for securities transactions as of 2027 still has to be approved by EU Council

11/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament/EU Council agreement on shortening the deadline for securities transactions in the EU as of October 2027 was endorsed by Parliament in a plenary vote on Wednesday 10 September (see EUROPE B13706A22). However, contrary to what we have indicated, the text will still have to be endorsed by the Member States’ ambassadors to the EU (Coreper) before being published in the Official Journal of the European Union. (BD)
