Member States approve exemption for zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles from road tolls until 2031

11/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday, 11 September, Member States’ permanent representatives (Coreper) approved the exemption for zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles from road tolls until 2031, without amendment. The purpose of this extension—proposed by the European Commission in June (see EUROPE B13669A7)—is to boost and support the competitiveness of sustainable road transport.
