Hadja Lahbib denounces “indiscriminate killings” in North Kivu

11/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 10 September, the European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, condemned the massacre perpetrated during a funeral on Monday night in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) by Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebel groups linked to the Islamic State group. “The conflict in North Kivu has become a hotspot of rampant violence against the civilian population. These indiscriminate killings must stop”, declared Ms Lahbib on the X network. On Tuesday, the Congolese government counted at least 89 dead in two simultaneous attacks by ADF fighters, one in Lubero territory and the other in Beni territory. (BD)
