Lisbon/Oporto, 18/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The WEU Assembly's Committee of Presidents (which takes political decisions in periods between plenary sessions), at its meeting on Thursday in Lisbon, proposed the creation of a Steering Committee charged with preparing the creation of the interim European Security and Defence Assembly recommended by the "Lisbon Initiative" of 21 March last (see EUROPE of 15/16 May, page 5).
