The EP does not yet "take note" of decree stripping Le Pen of his mandate

Strasbourg, 18/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament's Legal Affairs Committee recommended, in Strasbourg, not yet "taking note" of the French decree stripping the leader of the Front National Jean-Marie Le Pen of his mandate as Euro-MP, and EP President Nicole Fontaine said that she would follow that opinion. According to the Legal Affairs Committee, which invoked the precedence of Bernard Tapie, one had to wait for the deadline provided for for a possible appeal to the State...
