The British groups COMPASS and GRANADA announced their merger to form a hotel, restaurant and media group whose activities will then be separated to form "two world sized groups" in each sector. After the merger, the GRANADA shareholders will hold around 66.25% of the new group and those of COMPASS around 33.75%. The capitalisation of GRANADA COMPASS represents GBP 17.5 billion.
