18/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has announced that Community anti-trust services have visited Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) in London, a bottling firm partially owned by the Coca-Cola company, and its subsidiary in Belgium, to investigate whether the company may have breached competition rules. The investigation essentially concerns the UK and Belgian markets and follows similar visits in July 1999 to bottling companies active on the German, Austrian and Danish markets. The investigation, triggered by complaints to the Commission, is meant to determine whether CCE's distribution practices may constitute an abuse of dominant position in breach of Community competition rules.
