Strasbourg, 15/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - During his visit to the European Parliament in the shadow of the French Presidency of the Council, the French Minister for Foreign Affairs Hubert Védrine met the Parliament's President Nicole Fontaine, to whom (as he indicated to some journalists) he spoke of France's "surprise and regret" for the vote by the plenary to remove from the calendar of EP session for 2001, all the Friday sessions in Strasbourg (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.6).
