The Erasmus+ Annual Report 2024 confirms that the programme is achieving the objectives set for the period 2021–2027. Presented on Thursday 13 November at the 2025 European Education and Skills Summit (https://aeur.eu/f/jix ), the document looks back over this fourth year of the cycle and shows how the priorities of the programme, which has an annual budget of €4.7 billion – namely inclusion, the digital transition, environmental issues and democratic participation – support the actions that have been funded.
Last year, 34,400 projects involving 85,600 organisations from higher education, schools, vocational training, adult education, youth and sport were supported by the EU programme. Nearly 1.5 million people, including students, learners, teachers, trainers, youth workers and sports coaches, took part in a mobility or learning activity.
2024 saw the successful implementation of new digital tools, more cooperative partnerships and progress on the creation of a future European diploma (see EUROPE 13638/1).
The report also shows that these activities have been accompanied by a diversification of audiences and themes. Inclusion measures have made it possible to increase the participation of less-represented groups.
Initiatives linked to environmental issues have also increased, as have actions aimed at improving civic and democratic participation among young people.
To build on this momentum, the Erasmus+ 2026 call for proposals was published on 12 November (see EUROPE 13752/29).
