Euro area inflation at 2.1% in October

19/11/2025 (Agence Europe)In October, the annual inflation rate stood at 2.1% in the euro area compared with 2.2% in September, according to data published by the statistical office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Wednesday 19 November. For the EU as a whole, inflation was also down, falling to 2.5% from 2.6% in September. The lowest annual rates were observed in Cyprus (0.2%), France (0.8%) and Italy (1.3%). The highest annual rates were recorded in Romania (8.4%), Estonia (4.5%) and Latvia (4.3%). The rise in prices was sustained in Germany (2.3%) and vigorous in Spain (3.2%). The biggest contributions to annual inflation in the euro area came from services (+1.54 percentage points, pp), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (+0.48 pp), industrial goods excluding energy (+0.16 pp) and energy (-0.08 pp). (BD)
