Commissioner de Palacio is proposing to allocate 1.5 million ecopoints by end of year for road transit through Austria

Brussels, 25/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commissioner for Transports, Loyola de Palacio, should propose this Wednesday to the Commission to distribute 1.5 million ecopoints for road transit through Austria, though without making judgments for the future." Last week the Council had called on the Commission to free the last slice of ecopoints for 2000, without reaching a decision on the reduction of road traffic in Austria within three years (see EUROPE of 21 July, p.6).
