Europeche and Cogeca dispute European Commission guidelines in view of revision of EU's MAGPs and suggest alternatives for restructuring fisheries activities

Brussels, 25/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - Europeche (private shipowners) and Cogeca (fisheries cooperatives) have approached the European Commissioner for Fisheries, Franz Fischler to react to the European Commission's report to the Council to prepare the "mid-term evaluation" of the EU Multiannual Guidance Programmes (MAGPs) in the field of fisheries. This reaction was forwarded at the same time to the Council and European Parliament.
