The LABORATOIRES CHAUVIN, largest French producer of ophthalmologic products, has been bought by the American contact lens manufacturer BAUSCH & LOMB for USD 228 million in cash. Regrouping a group of smaller companies, the LABORATOIRES CHAUVIN had a turnover of FF 771 million in 1999 with 780 employees.
