Commission proposes to Council opening consultations with Haiti prior to possible suspension of cooperation with the country

Brussels, 25/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is to propose to the Council applying to Haiti Article 336 (2) of the Lome Convention that may lead to the suspension of Union cooperation with the country for non-respect of obligations stemming from essential elements of the Convention.
