EU demands reestablishment of democracy in Fiji, with the threat of suspending the Lome Convention

Brussels, 25/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The French Presidency, made the following Declaration on behalf of the EU: "The European Union welcomes the safe release of all the hostages but remains concerned at the development of the situation in Fiji, which is still unconstitutional, unstable and precarious.
