Italy asserts having ended the Treasury Minister's "special powers" in the privatised public sector companies, Commission has its doubts

Luxembourg, 03/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Court of Justice has just heard the different parties arguments in the case opposing the European Commission and Italy over the special powers - the "golden shares" that Italian legislation grants to the Treasury Minister (tesoro) in the privatisation of public companies.
