Sweden taken to court for failing to fully transpose revised EU Renewable Energy Directive

08/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 8 October, the European Commission decided to bring an action against Sweden before the Court of Justice of the European Union. The country has not fully transposed into national law the provisions of the revised Renewable Energy Directive (see EUROPE B13296A32), which relate to the simplification and acceleration of authorisation procedures.
