European Commission takes Greece to court for failure to comply with Directive establishing general arrangements for excise duties

On Wednesday 8 October, the European Commission decided to bring an action before the Court of Justice of the European Union against Greece (INFR(2020)2268) for failure to comply with Directive [2020/262/EU] establishing the general arrangements for excise duties (see EUROPE B12366A2).

It criticises this Member State for exempting from excise duty supplies of excise goods made by shops located at its land borders to travellers going to third countries, in particular Albania, North...
