European Parliament approves conclusion of EU/Côte d’Ivoire fisheries protocol

08/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 8 October in Strasbourg, the European Parliament approved the new protocol implementing the fisheries agreement between the European Union and Côte d’Ivoire for the period 2025-2029 (520 votes in favour, 97 against and 12 abstentions). This protocol provides for an annual EU financial contribution of €740,000, including €305,000 for access to water and €435,000 for sectoral support.
