Removal of child sexual abuse material – Danish EU Council Presidency drops its call for an agreement on 14 October

On Wednesday 8 October, the Danish Presidency of the EU Council noted that it did not have sufficient support from the Member States to reach a political agreement in principle (‘general approach’) on the proposed regulation on removing child sexual abuse material online, as it had hoped to do in Luxembourg on Tuesday 14 October.

The Danish authorities therefore decided to withdraw the item from the agenda of the Home Affairs Council, after quickly realising that no qualified majority...
