ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) privatisation

- Italy: The Italian government will proceed, between the end of 2000 and the beginning of 2001 with the privatisation of a further stake in the electricity company ENEL, already partially privatised, announced the Treasury Minister Vincenzo Visco. The Italian State, which still holds 68.26% of ENEL's capital, could following this sale pass under the 50% mark.
