Barnier signs twelve decisions for aid to Portugal under Objective 1 (regions behind in development) of regional policy, for 13.2 billion euro

Brussels, 11/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commissioner responsible for regional policy, Michel Barnier, signed European Commission decisions on Tuesday approving twelve "operational programmes" for Portugal, under Objective 1 of regional policy, for the period 2000-2006. Community assistance to these programmes in favour of regions behind in development amounts to 13.2 billion euro.
