Commission proposes a three-year phased reduction of transit traffic in Austria, concentrating on five Member States responsible for most of the traffic

Brussels, 24/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission proposed on Wednesday the phased reduction over a three-year period of "ecopoints" for heavy goods vehicles in transit in Austria. The reduction would essentially affect the five Member States whose traffic in Austria rose the most in 1999: Austria, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Greece.
