EP/Council agreement on ecological scrapping of old cars

Brussels, 24/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament and Council reached a compromise on the directive relating to the ecological scrapping of end-of-life cars, in the framework of the conciliation procedure. The path is thus now open for the formal adoption of this very important text from an environmental point of view. EUROPE will describe the contents of the compromise tomorrow.
