24/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will be examining the applications by Armenia and Azerbaijan to join during its session in Strasbourg from 26 to 30 June 2000. Rapporteurs, Italian Socialist Demetrio Volcic and French Gaullist Jacques Baumel, recommend that the plenary give its clearance to accession by these two countries, which would thus have 43 members from the autumn on.
