Strasbourg, 16/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Portuguese Council Presidency and the European Commission told Members of the EP, during Parliament's debate on the meetings of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights that get under way on 20 March in Geneva, that the Union is still preparing its position on the sensitive issue of the resolution on human rights in China. Likewise, the Union has not yet defined its position on the tabling of a resolution on the death penalty.
