Five investment aid schemes for Sidmar steelworks in Belgium are approved but a sixth scheme is banned

Brussels, 16/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised five Belgian aid schemes for the Sidmar steelworks in Ghent but has prohibited a sixth scheme. It concluded that five of the six investment schemes notified are in compliance with European rules on aid for investments to help firms adapt to new environmental standards or to take energy-saving measures.
