Summit could take place in June, thanks to the withdrawal of the Saharan Republic

Brussels, 19/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The voluntary withdrawal of the Arab Democratic Saharan Republic (ADSR), announced on 17 January, gives new hope to plans for a Europe-Africa Summit. The convening of such a summit seemed compromised due to the difficulty of inviting both Morocco and the Saharans and to the fact that Morocco is temporarily no longer a member of the OAU, the pan-African organisation.
