Parliament discharges Commission for 1997 budget, with a list of demands

Strasbourg, 19/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - By adopting the report by the Dutch Liberal Lousewies van der Laan, Parliament discharged the European Commission for the execution of the 1997 budget and closed the accounts relating to that fiscal year. The two decisions do, however, come together with a resolution by which the EP makes a certain number of demands regarding the Commission.
