Commission continues infringement procedures against Member States which fail to comply with Habitats Directive

Brussels, 11/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to enter a new stage in infringement procedures initiated against four Member States (Sweden, United Kingdom, Belgium, Luxembourg) for continued non-compliance with the Community directive concerning the conservation of natural habitats and animal and plant species, the so-called Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC). We give details for each of the above cases:
