The Argentinean banks BANCO RIO and BANCO TORNQUIST, part of the Spanish bank BSCH - BANCO SANTANDER CENTRAL HISPANO, are to merge. BANCO TORNQUIST manages a network of 40 branches and manages $591 million in deposits, whereas BANCO RIO has 256 branches and manages $6.021 bn.
